The first time i tried sushi,i thought the rice is basi (expired) cos it has a bit of acidic taste (yeah yeah, probably you might think like ''duh!cos it has vinegar!-.-'' but i was very young then, pardon that).Well i still like it though. After getting used to its taste,i started to LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE~~~ it!YUM YUM!
So before meeting my awesomeness-random-coolest bff (hey mawar if you read this,i'm sure you will kembang hahaha!),i decide to make simple chicken mcnugget sushi roll. When i say chicken mcnugget,i do not meant as literally chicken nuggets,i meant it as very very simple.Yes we singaporeans sometimes say it like that.
For those sushi-lover newbies who don't know how to make sushi, there are a lot of youtube videos to see...NO!NO!I WAS JOKING ALRIGHT!YOU BETTER COME CONTINUE READ THIS BLOG! *pulls reader's hand*
Okay now i got your hands(and your eyes) tied up on this blog.Let's get started! \(^.^)/
Ingredients
-Warm cooked Japanese rice (i use 2 cups of it)
-2-3 tbsp of Rice vinegar
-1/2 tbsp sugar(optional)
-Roasted seaweed
That's the main ingredients for sushi! You can add any desired toppings. Since this post is about making simple chicken mcnugget sushi,i'm gonna add chicken mcnugget inside. You think im joking right?okaylah im joking *insert idiot face* .
Okay for the fillings,i'm gonna used canned tuna and shredded crabsticks with mayo.
Steps
-Mix sugar with rice vinegar. To melt and mix them evenly, place them in microwave for about 20 seconds. Sugar makes the vinegar more mild, and of cos you can add more sugar if its too acidic but don't put too much or else you would get sweet rice :S
-Add the mixture bit by bit in the rice, and use a big wooden or plastic spoon and slowly fold them. Taste the rice until you're happy with the taste.
-Let the rice cool before you start to make sushi roll.
After the rice is cooled, now its the fun part...SUSHI ROCK & ROLL TIME!
You need a bamboo mat to do this. For singapore residences who don't know where to buy bamboo mat,you can find it at Daiso, where everything is at $2! For those not living in singapore, umm im not sure...but as cliche as it gets, ebay perhaps?
I wrapped the bamboo mat with a cling wrap so the bamboo will not get dirty.

Usually if you buy a packet of seaweed, you will get this.
Cut them into half to get this
Place the seaweed with rough side facing up, add the rice on it and make a thin layer, make sure not too add too much or else it will hard for you to roll with the fillings. Do make a small gap at the bottom edge of the seaweed.
Then add the fillings, make sure not too add too much or too thin,as it can affect the shape of the sushi rice.
And you can start rolling!
Its a simple technique how to roll it.Gently pull the seaweed on the top edge of the mat. Then slowly fold them, once fold, gently press to firm up ,add water on the small gap of the seaweed to stick everything up,then fold and press it again.
And you will get this!
Cut them with a very sharp knife.Thickness as desired. And TAA DAAA!
I put them in my pink lunch box and off to meet my bff!And i got myself ready and off to meet my bff!YAY!
Here's a picture of me as a signing off!buhbye!
